Sister Wives stars Meri and Kody Brown discuss their marriage
This doesn’t sound like positive news for the couple, as per the International Business Times. They meet with a therapist as they finally address their marital problems. But it looks like it could be too late to save their marriage.
“Our relationship has been pretty rocky,” Meri tells the TLC producers. “People ask me all the time why I don’t leave.”
Meri is aware of the Sister Wives fans who question her decision to stay with the Brown family. #sisterwives SPOTLIGHT 💡 Who else is a huge Meri fan?! 🥰 She’s such a wonderful person.. Here’s a brief insight into her life thus far! Meri Caroline Barber was born on January 16, 1971, in Alameda, California, to William Barber, Jr. and Bonnie Barber (née Ahlstrom). Her father is also a polygamist and has five wives. We know that she has two sisters (one sister unfortunately passed away a some time ago) and a brother. Meri first met Kody Brown in 1989 when one of his sister introduced them. The two hit it off, and on December 24, 1989, Kody proposed, and she accepted. They were legally married on April 21, 1990. When Meri married Kody, she planned for them to have eight children together. Unfortunately, she struggled to get pregnant for unknown reasons. She has only been able to get pregnant twice during their marriage; once in 1994, which resulted in the birth of daughter Mariah Lian, and once again around 2007 which ended in miscarriage. In December of 2014, Meri was legally divorced from her husband so he could legally marry Robyn in order to adopt her three children. She and Kody are still spiritually married. #tlc #sisterwives #polygamy #seekingsisterwife #tlcsisterwives @lularoemeribrown
“The relationship between he and I is gone,” Meri admits. “It’s dead, it’s over.”
Kody agrees with her. He even says that their marital problems aren’t just from Meri’s catfishing scandal. It turns out they had problems well throughout their 25-year marriage. Kody and Meri rushed into things without thinking them over.
“Meri and I had a very fast courtship,” he says in the clip. “I didn’t know who I was marrying.”
Kody is also tired of being at fault for their problems. He admits that he is “done with hearing how I am wrong.” He also seems over solving their problems.
Kody also has a strained marriage with Robyn Brown
The Sister Wives star also revealed that his strained relationship with his youngest and latest wife, Robyn is “pathetic,” as per Screen Rant. The Brown family has been silent on social media in regard to who the polygamist husband is staying within Arizona during the coronavirus pandemic. On Season 14 of Sister Wives, Robyn and Kody have been fighting over everything.
It was originally assumed that Robyn was his favorite wife. It appears that has changed over the years. Kody and his wives have also been arguing over his big house dreams. Some of the wives have tried to maintain their cool but Meri lost it on a fellow sister wife when she had to evacuate due to a forest fire.
Sister Wives fans are wondering if the family will get it together before they fall apart. How long can Kody stay in a relationship with his wives until he realizes that it’s over?
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
