Bella Thorne has a new venture with Fox. Some would find her new deal baffling. The former Disney star often makes headlines for her dating life and social media antics rather than her career moves.

But she displayed her singing chops on The Masked Singer. During Wednesday night’s episode, Bella was unmasked as the Swan. This led to the announcement that she signed a development deal for scripted and unscripted content with Fox.

Bella Thorne lands the biggest TV deal of her life

As per Deadline, Bella Thorne is working with Fox to bring fresh content to the network. She was also revealed as the Swan on Fox’s The Masked Singer. However, the report doesn’t reveal what kind of content she will create and who it would appeal to. It will be a mix of “scripted and unscripted” content.

Bella is best-known for her work both behind and in front of the camera. She has been shooting the indie film Habit alongside the producer of Mudbound. The Shake it Up star will also star in Mitzi Peirone’s post-apocalyptic movie, The Uncanny. Bella is also set to appear in another thriller titled Masquerade, which will also mark her directorial debut. However, the details of the home invasion thriller are unknown.

This comes after Bella was revealed as the Swan to the surprise of everyone. She sang the classic song, “I Hate Myself for Loving You” by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. As CNN reported, no one on the panel knew that it was her. Jenny McCarthy assumed that the singer was Kristen Stewart, while Nicole Scherzinger thought it was Megan Fox. Meanwhile, Ken Jeong assumed it was Olivia Munn and Joel McHale thought it was Mila Kunis.

She had more songs that she wanted to perform

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bella Thorne revealed that she’s releasing new music this year. That’s part of the reason she appeared on the singing competition. She appears to have a lot on her plate. 2020 could be the year of Bella Thorne. She said that she still had some songs that she still wanted to perform on the show.

“The next song was going to be ‘Changes’ by xxxtentacion,” she said. “I was going to do ‘The Climb’ by Miley Cyrus… I f***ing love ‘The Climb,’ man.”

Bella enjoyed performing on the show. It was a change of pace from what she usually does. She admitted that “half of me was relieved” when she was unmasked, while the other half was “pretty sad” that her experience was over. Bella also remarked that she’s happy that The Masked Singer Season 3 is still airing while other shows are shutting down amid the coronavirus pandemic. The new season was filmed several months ago.

The Masked Singer coming out right now was a perfect time, because families are all together on the couch,” she explained. “They want a reason to smile or make a joke, because the world is so dark right now. It’s actually, I think, a good time to create some laughs.”

Bella has been binge-watching and social distancing lately, and advises her fans to do the same. She’s also ready to release her third studio album, What Do You See Now?, later this year. Being on The Masked Singer, has made her a stronger actress and performer.
