ABC Exec Weighs In, Answers Questions On Peter Weber’s Insane ‘Bachelor’ Finale
Peter Weber’s season finale of The Bachelor was safely the most dramatic ending to date. Between Hannah Ann Sluss giving him a piece of her mind to Peter’s mom Barbara yelling at Madison, it was epic. Now, following all the hype and drama, ABC executive Robert Mills is speaking out and answering some questions many fans are dying to know.
Robert Mills speaks out about Peter’s insane ending
Yahoo! Entertainment shared the interview details with Mills. First up on the topic board was if Hannah Ann Sluss had seen Monday’s night’s episode prior to when it aired. Recall that Monday night’s episode featured Madison deciding to leave Peter in Australia. He then proceeded to get engaged to Hannah Ann. Mills replied to the question saying, “They watch everything live, so they saw last night. The emotions were fresh and raw.”
The next question was if Madison Prewett knew prior to Monday night that Peter’s parents did not like her. Mills said that she just found out Monday night when she saw the episode also. He also revealed that Tuesday night was the first time Madison and Barb saw each other since the big ordeal in Australia. As for the drama that went down between Barb and Madison, Mills thinks most people are on Madi’s side.
Mills shares his thoughts on Barb
Mills was asked if he knew how ugly the scenes were going to get on Tuesday night. He replied, “We knew that she was not necessarily thrilled that Peter had reconciled with Madison, but this was truly a little bit scary because it was live and nobody knows what she’s going to say, but at the same time, that’s what makes for great TV. But, I don’t think anyone knew she would go that far.”
He was next asked if he thought Barb had went to far Tuesday night. Mills said, “We all want love. We all want to find that person and want to be with someone. And the fact that the family does not get along with the person you’ve chosen to be with is also something that many people deal with. Family dynamics is always something you have to deal with. I think everybody saw some scenario in their life than rang true while watching that.”

What happens now with Peter and Madison?
Mills was asked where Peter and Madison go after his mom totally bashed her on the finale. He said, “I think it’s going to be difficult with Peter and Madison, so I’m glad that everybody saw these dynamics on TV, so that if they don’t work out, it played in front of the audience. When you sign up for this show, you sign up to bring the audience with you on this journey.”
With all the unanswered questions about Madison and Peter moving forward will The Bachelor follow up and film parts of it. Mills said, “If it’s warranted. I think, right now, they deserve their privacy. But of course we’ll check up on them. If there’s something that warrants us filming, we would love to be there.”
Peter and Madison have a long hard road if they choose to stay together. As far as Bachelor Nation embracing their relationship, Mills said the following. He said, “I think people are pretty forgiving. I think if we had this conversation two years ago about Arie and Lauren, I would’ve said, I don’t know. But they have a baby and it worked out and there’s a lot of goodwill for them. And Becca and Garrett are so happy, so it all worked out. Certainly, Peter and Madison have gone through a lot to be together — if they end up together, they’ve gone through a unique experience that no one else can share.”
The future and Barbara
It’s no doubt producers would love Hannah Ann to join Bachelor in Paradise, but will she? Everyone will have to wait and see if her heart has healed enough. As for Barb, Mills says, “Anywhere Barbara wants a place in Bachelor Nation, she’s got it. She’s certainly somebody with a lot of love to give.”
He also said the following about Barbara possibly hosting the senior edition of The Bachelor. He said, “She can co-host with Chris Harrison. A lot of people have said they want to see Barb as a bartender, too.”
There are tons of unanswered questions still as everyone processes what went down for everyone involved. Clare Crawley is set to start filming her season of The Bachelorette March 13.
