Katy Perry has been announcing her pregnancy left and right. She had a very special announcement for fans in her new music video “Never Worn White.” In the video, Katy wears a white dress and exposes her ever-growing baby bump.
Katy didn’t want to announce it to the world at once. So, she had a few surprise announcements up her sleeve. She shared the exciting news with her fellow American Idol judges. Katy also privately shared her pregnancy reveal with her grandmother the night before she passed away.
Sunday night’s episode of American Idol had a bittersweet moment
Katy Perry’s pregnancy has been making headlines ever since she released her new music video on Friday, March 6. As per Billboard, ABC captured the moment when Katy Perry shared the joyful news with her fellow American Idol judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. She’s even heard saying, “Oh my god I’m terrified.”
She casually asked the men if they would throw her a baby shower. Luke and Lionel were full of ideas. Just the wrong ideas. “I’ve got the fishing tackle,” Luke said. Katy joked that she’ll need to upgrade her dressing room.
“I’m definitely going to get fat. I’ll look forward to that,” Katy joked. “Everything is going to be bigger…and better…on American Idol.”

Katy Perry pays tribute to her late grandmother with an emotional Instagram post
You may need the tissues for this video. As USA Today reported, Katy Perry also shared a tender moment between herself and her late grandmother. She took to Instagram on Monday, March 9 to reveal to fans that her grandmother Anne Pearl Hudson passed away.
She shared a series of heartwarming photos and videos commemorating her grandmother. Katy also included this emotional video of her pregnancy reveal.
“Grandma, it’s Katy,” she’s heard saying in the video. “I just wanted to tell you, I know you’re not feeling well, but I wanted to share some exciting news with you.”
“You remember me? Katy? I’m going to tell you that I’m going to have a baby,” she continues. “I’m pregnant, grandma! Katy is finally pregnant, she’s the last one, but I have a baby inside me and I wanted to tell you that.”
Katy’s grandmother appears to be on a breathing tube and couldn’t respond. In another lengthy Instagram post, Katy talked about the importance of family.
“Family… is there to show us what love can be… sometimes that journey of finding the love is tough to get to AND through but if you can open your heart and let the light lead the way you will find that incomparable love,” she wrote.
