Derek Hough joins season 2 of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’

While Hough’s fans will be pleased to see him on the Disney+ show,  students at East High are likely to have their work cut out. Derek’s character will be working in the drama department of North High, their biggest rival. However, a little competition never did anyone any harm.

Hough will be playing the role of Zack, Miss Jenn’s (Kate Reinders) former boyfriend. Deadline describes his character as a “charming but sneaky actor.” Zack has returned to Salt Lake to become a drama teacher at the school. Things can only get interesting from there on!

Besides being a six-time winner on Dancing With The Stars, Derek doesn’t sit around. He also acts as one of the judges on World of Dance, alongside Jennifer Lopez and Ne-Yo. The NBC show is about to enter its fourth season.

On top of this, in June he will start a Las Vegas residency at the Flamingo Las Vegas in “Derek Hough: No Limit.” Hough has also had a starring role on “Hairspray Live!” on NBC and a recurring role on Nashville as Noah West.
