Jim Bob Duggar is the center of new rumors. Did you notice that most of his children don’t have their own jobs? They’ve been criticized for making money with Instagram. Aside from appearing on Counting On, most of the Duggar children don’t have a career or even a steady job.

Fans would assume to see a wide variety of jobs from such a large family. But it hasn’t worked out that way. Some Duggar fans think that Jim Bob Duggar is preventing his sons from working in the real world. Others believe that their religion has something to do with it.

Jim Bob Duggar accused of making his children work for him

As Showbiz CheatSheet reported, some Duggar fans feel that Jim Bob Duggar wants to have control over his family. He even chaperoned 30-year-old Jana Duggar on her trip to Las Vegas with her best friends. Derick Dillard denied that theory on Instagram when he revealed the family’s secrets. But it’s possible that Jim Bob wants to keep his kids on his payroll so they can follow the strict family rules. Keep in mind that this is purely speculation at the moment.

Case in point: Jim Bob sold Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth a home for $10. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. TV Shows Ace even reported about Jim Bob maintaining control of his children by giving them free homes. He’s also sold homes to his adult children who are willing to follow his rules. The kids who don’t want to follow his rules get very little financial support. The family’s Christian beliefs might make it difficult for the Duggar children to make a living on their own.

Fans feel it has something to do with the family church

The ministry that the Duggar family belongs to could be the reason behind the lack of employment. According to The Hollywood Gossip, the Duggar family’s ministry advises men to never listen to women, especially in a professional setting. It also suggests that men should avoid secular work altogether. It’s probably for the best since women make up the majority of the workforce.

The IBLP also doesn’t favor women in the workforce. It believes that women should stay at home and provide for their families. However, there are a few women who are employed by the IBLP, but only in internship positions. Cleaning and filing are acceptable duties, but only if they’re single and without children. The IBLP hasn’t stated how it feels about Jessa, Jill, and Jinger supporting their families through social media sponsorships and influencing.
