‘VPR’ Star Lala Kent Opens Up About Her Sobriety, Reveals She Never Filmed An Episode Sober
Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is celebrating a year and a half of sobriety next month. Coincidentally, her sober anniversary falls days after her wedding to fiance Randall Emmett. The reality stars walk down the aisle on April 18, 2020.
Lala has spoken out in the past how a drunken weekend in 2018 set her on a path to sobriety.
VPR Star Recounts Morning She Decided to Stop Drinking
The Vanderpump Rules star opens up to Entertainment Tonight about how Randall helped her get sober. She tearfully recalls putting him through a lot when she was drinking.
In fact, Lala once revealed on the show that they broke up briefly when she found out he had been drinking when she was on the cast trip to Solvang during Season 7. They had both agreed not to drink that weekend.
Lala remembers the exact date she stopped drinking: October 22. According to Lala, she woke up in the morning and went into Randall’s office. She admitted to the movie producer that she was an alcoholic. She tells ET that his support got her through. Lala says,
For the first time ever, I looked at him, I felt hopeful. I felt like the thought of that, it’s up to me to never feel the way I’ve been feeling again, I felt empowered and I saw light finally.”

Randall Went to Lala’s One-Year Anniversary AA Meeting
In a joint interview with ET about Randall’s Vanderpump Rules debut, the couple share a relationship milestone. Besides their engagement, Randall credits Lala’s one-year sobriety meeting at AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) as a highlight in their relationship.
Randall attended the special meeting because Lala was leading it. He says,
It was the most beautiful moment I had with her I think, it beats everything. The engagement is the highest level, but her running a meeting and talking about her sobriety and all the things she had overcome, it was awesome.”

Lala’s Shocking Confession: She Never Filmed Vanderpump Rules Sober
Lala’s drinking has been well-documented and discussed on Vanderpump Rules. Who can forget her confrontation with Raquel Leviss where Lala dubbed Raquel a “bambi-eyed b**ch?”
She had another confrontation with former VPR co-star Billie Lee that Lisa Vanderpump later called Lala out for. Lala recounts,
Lisa Vanderpump said to me, ‘I had no idea that you were drinking like this…’ and I was like, ‘Lisa, I have never filmed with you sober.'”
Lala further states that she was drinking practically 24/7 and only Randall knew this secret.
Season 8 will be Lala’s first season completely sober. Fans are already noticing a change in her behavior.
TV Shows Ace reported a few months ago that Lala’s co-star, James Kennedy, is on his own sober journey. Fans may get a glimpse this week of why he decided to stop drinking.
The preview shows a heated argument with his girlfriend, Raquel. James storms out of the apartment, after calling her some pretty vile names. (Note: James didn’t get sober until AFTER filming VPR Season 8.)
