‘RHONJ’ Star Teresa Giudice Admits She Knew Marriage Was Over a ‘Long Time’ Ago
It’s been almost two months since news broke about the end of yet another Real Housewife marriage. The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice reportedly split in December. While neither have addressed the news directly, both have dropped hints in their words and behavior.
TV Shows Ace reports that video of Joe partying with other women in Mexico was leaked online earlier this week. An unusually reserved Teresa’s response was, “Party on.” A new interview seems to support reports of a separation.
RHONJ Star Blames ‘Resentment’ for Split
In 2015, the Fabulicious cookbook author served 11 months in jail for her part in the fraud charges filed against the former couple. Teresa’s mother passed away two years after she was released from prison.
Speaking to People, the RHONJ OG admits that she feels resentment toward her estranged husband for missing time with her mother. She says,
“After my mom passed away, like a lot of resentment, a lot of things that just happened after I lost my mom.”
Physical distance added to the strain on her marriage. Joe’s prison sentence was quite a bit longer than Teresa’s. He spent 41 months locked up before being transferred to ICE custody.
Because Joe never obtained U.S. citizenship, he was ordered to deport back to his home country of Italy. Joe is still appealing the ruling. However, ICE conditions were so terrible that he chose to continue the fight from Italy.
Joe and Teresa’s Heated Arguments Featured on Show
As The Real Housewives of New Jersey currently airs Season 12, Joe was still in ICE custody at the time. The resulting stress led to many fights and vile arguments with Teresa. In one particularly bad fight, Joe says he never wanted to get married in the first place.
Teresa and Joe saw each other in person when Teresa and her daughters flew to Italy. However, much of that time was spent enjoying time together instead of hashing out their marriage problems. Teresa explains,
“I mean, I can’t predict the future, but as of now, it was two and a half days. It was too short to decide.”
The former couple are focusing on their daughters. Teresa has expressed uncertainty over her marriage for years, saying she didn’t know how it would work from different countries.
RHONJ Co-Star Recruited to Help Teresa Find a New Man
People reports that Dolores Catania has been tasked with finding someone new for Teresa. And the body-builder has a few requirements in mind. Teresa wants a man who expresses himself and compliments her appearance.
She says that Joe never called her beautiful, something her brother, Joe Gorga, spoke about on RHONJ. Andy Cohen aired a clip on his show Watch What Happens Live of Joe Gorga saying he never liked the way Teresa was treated during her marriage.
While Teresa defended her ex on WWHL as acting “macho” because of the cameras, she also has newfound clarity. She says,
“We were together for a long time. He was a great husband. I obviously loved his way then, but then afterward you see what you really left.”
Fans of RHONJ may wonder if Teresa could get back together with high school boyfriend, Anthony Delorenzo. Sister-in-law Melissa Gorga recently said she doesn’t think the two will date, but she wouldn’t hate the idea.
