The drama on Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor just won’t stop. After winning the opportunity to be on the digital cover of Cosmopolitan with Peter, Victoria Fuller is now losing that chance. Shortly after the episode aired revealing her as the winner of the photo shoot, Cosmo editor-in-chief Jessica Pels released a statement regarding the situation on Monday.

Cosmo Pulls Victoria from digital cover

Victoria was part of a modeling campaign for a fishing apparel company. One slogan they had was “White Lives Matter.” And, it was supposed to just be a play on words according to reports. The company participated in a marine conservation effort that featured the phrases “White Lives Matter” and “Blue Lives Matter.” However, Cosmo, along with many fans, did not see it that way.

As reported by People, Cosmopolitan  said the following, “Unequivocally, the White Lives Matter movement does not reflect the values of the Cosmo brand. We stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and any cause that fights to end injustices for people of color.”

She had defended herself and apologized

People shared that Victoria defended herself just a few days prior to Peter’s season premiering. Victoria defended herself on an Instagram account. The account, called Bachelor Clues, shared photos of Victoria modeling the clothing. Victoria commented on the post following tons of criticism for her involvement.

Victoria said, “Hello bachelor clues followers! It would be nice for you to gather all facts before jumping to bash someone. The company ‘We Love Marlins’ is in support of catching white, blue, and black marlins & releasing them back into the wild. In regards to a sensitive topic, I come from a VERY large fishing town where Marlin tournaments are held every year! Glad to clear this up….”

Victoria’s explanation was not good enough for some

One follower commented on the post with some advice for Victoria. They said, “Even if this was about marlins, it plays on the ‘white lives matter phrase which is overtly racist. You’re better off apologizing than trying to defend it.” They continued saying they felt Victoria should apologize and cut ties with the company.

Victoria replied back, this time apologizing. She said, “I definitely see how this could be offensive. I apologize immensely it was never my intention to lessen this matter.”  Victoria has not commented since Cosmopolitan released their statement on Monday.

Peter commented on the situation

Access Hollywood caught up with Peter to get his thoughts on the whole situation with Victoria. Peter said, “I never supported Victoria with the campaign that she was a part of. I’m learning about all of this as it comes out, just like everyone else is.”

Peter also said “In no way will I ever support that type of campaign.”  Peter went on to clarify that he has not spoken to Victoria. He also said he did not know about any of this during filming. However, he did enjoy his time with her. Peter feels Victoria is a good person and he likes the person he got to know during the season.
