‘90 Day Fiance’: Did Benjamin Taylor & Akinyi Obala Get Married?
Season 3 of 90 Day Fiance left TLC viewers with more questions than answers when it came to the relationship between Benjamin Taylor and Akinyi Obala.
As Cheat Sheet reminds us, the couple were considered married “in God’s eyes.” This was because Benjamin paid the “bride price” to her family. Technically, he struggled to pay it. Which was disappointing to her family. But, things seemed to work out in favor of the lovebirds. 90 Day Fiance fans, however, didn’t understand what it meant completely. Nor, did they know what the future would hold for this couple.
TLC viewers rejoiced when Benjamin took to Instagram a few days ago for a little Q&A. Unfortunately, he seemed to leave them with even more questions.
The 90 Fiance couple remain close to each other.
As those who followed Benjamin and Akinyi know, the duo met on the internet. They had a huge bond. In person, however, things were different. Benjamin and Akinyi had two very different cultures. It caused issues.
For starters, Benjamin was not an “alpha male.” Akinyi’s family had a huge issue with this. They also would have preferred him to be wealthier than he was. His faith also seemingly got in the way when he became bothered by her decision to drink a margarita while spending a night out.
Despite their differences, the couple shared an adorable selfie on Instagram just a few days ago. The selfie was taken in her home town meaning Benjamin likely took a trip there.
Benjamin confirmed they were still a couple.
Following the 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days Tell-All, the couple hasn’t been very active on social media in regard to their relationship status. Benjamin did share a few throwback photos. He also spent the holidays with his son and family, but not with Akinyi.
Akinyi only made things more confusing. She danced around the idea that they were not an item together. She also shared plenty of photos of her, by herself, with her family in Kenya.
Fortunately, if there was a time the duo were not an item, it seems as if they are now. On his Instagram Stories, Benjamin even confirmed that he was not single.

He, however, did not offer any details about their future. Many of his Instagram followers wanted to know if Akinyi would move to the U.S. to live with him. The 90 Day Fiance star noted that he “wished” he could give them details. However, he added that he was not able to.
Chances are pretty good fans will get answers in an additional season of the TLC series. Some even responded to the questions for relationship details that people needed to back off. The individuals clarified the 90 Day Fiance couple were likely under contract and unable to discuss certain things.
While it seems as if the duo are back together, the details of this 90 Day Fiance couple remain unclear.
