‘Shameless’ Cast Reacts To The Series Ending
Both Shameless fans and the cast have had a couple days to process the news. Showtime has finally decided to pull the plug on the Gallagher family. Fortunately, fans will get to look forward to one more season before things finally come to a close.
Fans have watched the actors and actresses of the series grow over the years.
Shameless has nine years and 10 seasons under its belt. With the exception of a few current core cast members, most have been with the show since the pilot episode. Fans have watched cast members such as Emma Kenney and Ethan Cutkosky grow into beautiful young adults. Fans also watched Cameron Monaghan grow into a beautiful young man and talented actor.
For several members of the cast, Shameless was their first big break. Their roles in this Showtime hit series became what many were most known for. So, it goes without saying that the cast members were likely just as devastated by the news as the fans of the series.
How does the cast feel about Shameless coming to an end?
Now that a few days have passed, several members of the Shameless cast have taken to social media to react to the news. For the most part, they seem to be just as sad as their fans are.
“One. Last. Hoorah. Shameless season 11: our final season. Thank you @showtime for keeping us employed the last 11 years and letting everyone party with the Gallagher’s, too. And thank you guys for sticking with us for so long through all of our ups and downs. This is so bittersweet,” Emma Kenney penned on Instagram.
Christian Isaiah added: “All Gallagher things must come to an end. #Shameless 11. The FINAL season. Guys it has been fun! Thank you all for the love and support.”

“It is rare to have a pilot go to series, rare to have that series get a second season, darn near impossible to have that series last for 11 SEASONS!! So with my ENTIRE soul I say THANK YOU! To those who have been on this ride from the beginning, to the new bingers! We have been incredibly blessed to have you! Can’t wait to see how crazy the final season will be!! @shameless,” Shanola Hampton posted on Instagram.
Noel Fisher added: “Going out with a bang. Get ready for the 11th and final season of #Shameless.”

Fans are devastated, but mostly understanding of the news.
The Showtime hit series is known for its cult-like following. So, it goes without saying that this news was hard for fans to digest. They, however, were mostly understanding. As Tv Shows Ace previously reported, many believed the show had overstayed its welcome on the network. Some believed the show went downhill after leading lady Emmy Rossum exited last season.
While Emma Kenny has done a pretty incredible job stepping into the role of leading lady. And, her character has certainly crossed just as many questionable moral lines… The characters have grown and the series is reaching a logical conclusion.
