Chris Harrison is a key staple in The Bachelor franchise. He has been there since the very beginning, and while he is beloved by many, that doesn’t mean he will continue to be there forever. After all, everyone retires at some point.

When will Chris leave ‘The Bachelor’?

There’s no telling quite when Chris Harrison will want to leave The Bachelor officially. Some fans got nervous that it would be the last season of The Bachelor. During the final rose episode, there was a tribute to his Bachelor career. Normally, that means that retirement is just around the corner. Luckily for us though, Chris has stayed around this whole time.

It turns out that even Chris wasn’t really expecting the video.

“I thought two things: A, I’m either fatally ill or B, I’m being replaced or fired as the host of The Bachelor,” he revealed. “It was like some weird lifetime achievement award that I didn’t realize was happening.”

For now, it seems like everyone is in the clear. Lots of jokes have been made about Chris signing a 50-year contract to host the show and several have even made jokes about how Chris doesn’t age. They aren’t wrong, he really doesn’t appear to age.

Who would take over?

So who would take Chris’s spot if he were to leave? According to Showbiz CheatSheet, they may already be grooming someone for the role. Wells Adams has been apart of Bachelor nation since Jojo’s season of The Bachelorette. Since his days starring on The Bachelorette, he has been the bartender on Bachelor in Paradise. He gives great advice to those in relationships…just like Chris does.

Wells will definitely never be on another show as a contestant seeing as he is now engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Sarah Hyland.

He even won the “Most Likely To Be The Next Chris Harrison,” award from Bustle.

“The fact that Bachelor Nation thinks that I’m competent enough to let a bunch of people know that there is only one rose left is a huge honor. However, jokes on you BN… ’cause I can’t count,” he said about winning the award.

While he doesn’t seem to be too confident in himself, it really could be the perfect match.

Who do you want to see take over Chris Harrison’s role in The Bachelor franchise? Let us know your favorite person for the spot. Be sure to watch Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor when it airs on January 6. With special appearances by Hannah Brown, it looks like it will be a really great season.
