But, a surprising number of people asked what difference it made, and what that blue check mark means.

90 Day Fiance – Zied Hakimi’s over the moon about his verification

Taking to his Instagram, Zied shared a screenshot of the top of his IG page. It showed he now accumulated 122k followers. He captioned his post with, “Thank you Instagram giving me the blue mark and make me verified now!😎😎😎❤❤👌👌🤴🤴🤴⚘⚘.” Certainly, all those emojis show how very proud and happy he feels. Plus, TV Shows Ace reported that he also celebrated finally getting on Cameo.com. In fact, Chrissy Teigen got one of his cameos. So, he’s doing well with expanding his social influencer status.  Many people sent their congrats to Zied. But plenty of people also asked why that’s important.

Fans who follow Angela Deem from 90 Day Fiance know that neither she or Michael have verified accounts. And that’s a problem for them. Some confusion arose when some followers thought they followed Michael. But, Angela maintained that someone created a fake account. Monsters and Critics ran an article titled, “Deem  pleads with Instagram to remove ‘fake’ Michael Ilesanmi account.” Well, since then, on her account, several followers were not sure which, if any, of them actually belong to either of them.

What does it mean to Zied that he’s now verified on Instagram?

Fans of 90 Day Fiance asked so many times why it’s important and what it means to get verified. In fact, people familiar with Instagram explained over and over. But, they soon grew tired of it. So, some questions went unanswered. One fan got the answer right when they talked about it. They said, “a verified badge means “that Instagram has confirmed that this is the authentic account for the public figure, celebrity or global brand it represents.” “Accounts representing well-known figures and brands are verified because they have a high likelihood of being impersonated.”

Actually, some people didn’t get that famous before they found loads of followers, like Zied of 90 Day Fiance. Some accounts by photographers and journalists got verified with less than 300 followers. So, it can be fairly random. That might be why Angela Deem still waits. It also took Ashley Martson ages to get verified.

What do you think about Zed Hakimi getting his account verified on Instagram? Did you know it helps to stop impersonators? Sound off your thoughts in the comments below.
