Hannah Brown and Carrie Ann Inaba have had some hard times this season on Dancing With the Stars. In previous weeks, judge Carrie Ann has given Hannah some harsh criticism that sent Hannah into meltdown mode. Hannah recovered and came back stronger than ever. Now, the two shared an emotional, tearful confrontation prior to last nights competition.

What went down between Hannah and Carrie Ann?

Carrie Ann was Hannah’s coach for the redemption dance. Hannah and Alan had to redo their rumba dance. It should be noted, the rumba was the dance Carrie Ann roughly critiqued Hannah on. She had told her the dance looked more like a cheerleader performance and there was not enough hip movement from the former Bachelorette.

Woman’s Day shared details about the rehearsals that brought Hannah and Carrie Ann to tears.
When a video aired prior to Monday night’s dance showed the confrontation between the two women it was emotional. Carrie Ann was intent on making sure Hannah’s hip movements were on point.

Hannah became frustrated.  Fans have seen her upset frequently in recent weeks. Carrie Ann began to walk towards Hannah to comfort her as the former Miss Alabama began to tear up. Hannah told Carrie Ann not to touch her.

Carrie Ann and Hannah definitely had a moment

Carrie Ann encouraged Hannah to address what was going on. She wanted to know how Hannah was feeling. Hannah did not like all the criticism over the past several weeks.

Inaba reacted by almost crying herself. She also apologized to Hannah. “I’m sorry because that’s not what we’re here for. My job is to help you.”

Hannah offers an apology

After Hannah and Alan completed their rumba Monday night, Hannah had something to say to Carrie Ann. She said, “I just want to say I am so sorry if it seemed like I was dismissive of you trying to help me. I had a really hard day that day and it was really emotional trying to learn my contemporary and I didn’t handle my emotions very well and I know you’re trying to help me.”

Carrie Ann accepted Hannah’s apology and noted that she gets that competing on Dancing With the Stars is intense and tough for everyone. Now it was Carrie Ann’s turn. Carrie Ann said she took no offence from Hannah’s words. She said, “You improved a heck of a lot. I felt like you were very comfortable in your hips. I’m very proud of you Hannah, well done.”

Hannah and Alan received good scores Monday night and are advancing to the DWTS finals. Tune in to find out if these two, who deny a romantic connection, can take the win. Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC.
