‘Welcome To Plathville’: How Does The Plath Family Connect To The Duggar Family?
Welcome to Plathville comes from TLC in November. The series, set to run for six episodes, brings another large and different family. But, if you’re hoping for something completely different from the Duggars of Counting On and 19 Kids and Counting, you may be a bit disappointed. That’s because there’s a definite connection between the Plath family and The Rodrigues family that leads us straight to Josh Duggar.
Welcome to Plathville brings the Fundamentalist Plath family that moves in Duggar circles
Those people who scrutinize the Duggar family looked at the other Quiverfull families and one of those is the Rodrigues family. The Rodrigues family often features at those interminable Duggar weddings. The info comes from Facebook’s Duggar Family News: Life is not all pickles and hairspray. On the same FB group, just over two years ago, fans speculated that the Rodrigues family might hook up their daughter Nurie with a Duggar boy. Well, it looks like they managed that – kind of.
In July this year, the Rodrigues family posted up about Nurie courting on the Rodrigues Family Ministries website. Her man-to-be turned out to be Nathan Keller. If you’re still not making the connection, Nathan’s the brother of Anna Keller, who is married to Josh Duggar. So, how does Nurie Rodrigues fit in with the Plath family in TLC’s Welcome to Plathville?

Nurie’s best friend is none other than the Plath family’s eldest daughter
Well, one of Nurie’s best friends is the eldest daughter of the Plath’s. On the Rodrigues website, they shared a photo of Nurie who was a bridesmaid at Hosanna’s wedding to Timothy Nobel. Hosanna Plath Nobel and Timothy are both musicians who travel around on tours. Actually, the Plath family and the Rodrigues’ all do that sort of thing as well. So, in summary, we have the self-styled Fundamentalist family of the Plaths, close to the Rodrigues family who know the Duggars well enough to get invited to weddings. And the Rodrigues’ daughter courts with Josh Duggar’s brother-in-law.
Do the Plaths differ from the Duggars a lot? Well, they seem more into their kids as individuals than the Duggars. Plus, there’s no proof that they practice the rather bizarre food training, blanket training, and other odd things that some fundamentalist families do. But, notable in the Welcome to Plathville preview, is that the kids never tasted a coke, except for eldest son Nathan who married Olivia Marie. Also, we see one of the older Plath daughters tasting her very first candy-cotton candy.

Tabloid speculation the Plath family may replace the Duggars’ Counting On
Cheatsheet wondered if TLC finally decided to move on from the Duggars, who dominated large-family reality TV for so long. But, looking at the Duggar connection, it seems this is probably just an extension of more of the same thing.
