Peta Jane Murgatroyd Of ‘DWTS’ Has Some Good News After Being Eliminated With Lamar Odom
Peta Jane Murgatroyd had a lot of fun this year on DWTS despite being a little intimidated by her partner. According to People, she said with him being a foot and three inches taller than her, she didn’t know how to make it work. She said she thought about how she was going to make him graceful.
Fans were anxious to see Lamar after his troubled year of drug addiction and rehabilitation. Peta found herself more concerned with his size. Once she saw his smile, however, she knew that would get him far because it lights up the whole dance floor.
The pair worked well together and despite some poor scores in the first week, they tried hard to come back and do better. Despite being eliminated from the show, Peta is very proud of Lamar’s efforts. Peta got the opportunity to share some great news with her fans today.

The Good News Peta Jane Murgatroyd Was Able To Share
On her personal Facebook page, Peta Jane Murgatroyd posted about an emotional day. She said she’s had Visas since 2006 and been in the US with a green card for the past five years. She stated she is now officially a United States citizen. Peta said she got misty eyed writing the post, because she hasn’t reflected on her life up to this point.
She said it took her “deep down memory lane,” and memories came to light she’d forgotten about. The childhood promises she made to herself and to her family. A little girl from Perth, she said, with dreams of being someone. She said she cried in front of 2000 people with her Ukrainian/American husband and American son. Peta is married to a Maksim Chmerkovskiy, a fan favorite on DWTS. Her husband did not return to the show this year as he’s pursuing other career options.
The US Made Her Dreams Come True
Peta said she always dreamed of being someone and people knowing her name. She wanted to make her family proud. Murgatroyd said the US gave her the chance to succeed and live in the best country.
She wrapped the post up by being thankful for the US. “This country gave me my career, it’s where I found the love of my life, and it’s where my first child was born. This will always be home now.” Fans are thrilled for her and share in her joy.
