Christina Anstead shocked HGTV fans by being so active so soon after giving birth. Turns out, the shock was for good reason.
According to the Flip or Flop star’s Instagram post, she’s currently on bed rest after seriously overdoing it.
As her Instagram followers know, Christina gave birth to her son Hudson early this month via C-Section. Christina has been very generous about sharing snaps of their new bundle of joy and her entire family since giving birth.
One was a very candid photo of her getting her hair colored while her breastmilk bled through her tank top. Another was of baby Hudson’s very first outting.
The HGTV star has recently taken to Instagram once more. To warn her followers. To warn them to be cautious.
Christina Anstead urges her followers to be careful not to overdo it after giving birth.
In her Instagram post from two days ago, Christina is resting in a bed sans make-up with her little one resting on her chest. Anstead admits in the caption of the snap that she felt fine from week one of postpartum. She felt no pain and thought she was taking things easy.
Christina, however, acknowledged she pushed herself too much when planning and throwing her daughter Tay’s birthday party. She realized she hurt herself the next day.
“So please anyone who just had a baby- don’t overdue it,” she begged her followers.

Welll… I’m a moron. I felt totally fine since one week postpartum- like zero pain… but I was resting and taking it easy … and then I threw Tay a bday party and was lifting and running around all weekend… and yesterday I woke up like oh crap … and today oh crap turned into oh sh** – I definitely hurt myself. It’s not the c-section incision area that hurts it’s my left abdomen and it hurts bad ;/. So please anyone who just had a baby- don’t overdue it. I always want to be the people pleaser in the family and make sure everyone knows how much I care about them- but in doing so I wasn’t taking care of myself. Back to bed rest and baby cuddles. 💙
Christina continued to explain that she was a “people pleaser.” It was her desire to make sure her family knows how much she cares that caused her harm. It caused her harm because she wasn’t stopping to care for herself.
“Back to bed rest and baby cuddles,” she concluded.
Her followers reacted to Christina Anstead’s announcement with love, support, and understanding.
The announcement of her bed rest was met with over 80,000 likes and just shy of 3,000 comments.
Many of her followers were quick to note how worried they had been after seeing how active she was so shortly after giving birth.
Christina also had several followers who found this post and caption to be extremely relate-able. Many agreed it is hard to be a new mother that needs to rest.
“I totally understand how you feel… been there and done that. As a mother and wife you want to show you care. On the other hand you need to come first so in turn you have a long life to show you care,” one individual penned in the comments.
The HGTV star had a few fans who urged her to be careful as the last thing they wanted was to see her in the hospital.
