Fans have had a pretty strong reaction to both of their recent marriage advice posts. As a result, fans have a lot to say about the advice being shared.

In June, Jill shared a post titled “More Than Sex: How To Love Your Husband“. In her post, she detailed all of the things that she thinks wives should do for their husbands. Although there are many tips on this list, a few of them stuck out more prominently to Counting On fans. For example, Jill talks about typically taboo topics, such as sex and lingerie.

Just a few days ago, Derick published his own blog post similar to Jill’s. His is titled “Hot Love: How to Love Your Wife Like You Mean It“. In his post, he follows the same format that Jill did. He talks about having plenty of sex and making time for your wife. He offers a variety of tip for marriage.

Fans noticed that Derick suggests having sex five to six times per week. One fan commented on Jill’s Instagram post asking about this. The fan was confused because it is a common assumption that the Duggar family doesn’t use birth control. Now, fans are speculating that Jill might be on birth control, contrary to popular belief.

In Derick’s blog post, he made a point and wrote, “Regularly discuss ways you can help each other feel more secure in your relationship and then do it!”

Then, he explained what this means. He said, “For example, it is really important to both of us that we have some kind of internet filtering service on our phones and laptops, so we decided to pay for a monthly Covenant Eyes filtering subscription and also limit some accessibility on our devices to help us be accountable to each other. We also share our social media passwords with each other.”

He continued, saying, “Another thing we purpose to do is to never be alone in the same room with someone of the opposite gender. Sometimes this is hard and requires more intentionality. For example, if I have a private meeting with a female, I may choose to leave the door open, or if Jill needs a repairman to come work on something at the house when I’m gone then she might invite a friend over while he’s there.”

Finally, Derick adds, “We realize though that safeguards alone aren’t enough…it is more about the heart and commitment to purity, but they may be helpful in reducing the prevalence of some situations, or even just the appearance of evil.”
