‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Restaurant Sued For Alleged Food Poisoning, Patron Claims to Have ‘’Vomited Profusely” At Table
Vanderpump Rules star and restaurant maven, Lisa Vanderpump, has a lot on her plate. She announced that season 9 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills would be her last after a falling out with the rest of the cast.
In the middle of all the turmoil, she opened a new restaurant in Las Vegas. Vanderpump Cocktail Garden is one of five restaurants Lisa and her husband, Ken Todd, operate in the U.S. The other restaurants are SUR, PUMP, Villa Blanca, and TomTom.
Several of the restaurants have seen drama over the years.
Patron Suing SUR After Alleged Food Poisoning
Reality Blurb reports that Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd are being sued. Co-owners Guillermo Zapata and his wife Natalie Zapata are also named in the lawsuit. A woman alleges that she became violently ill after dining at Sexy Unique Restaurant (SUR.) According to court filings, she ate a dish of white fish with orange sauce similar to this dish found on SUR’s Instagram page.

The customer states,
“one hour into eating her meal, she felt a hot sensation rise from her stomach…that she was unable to control. [The patron’s] head came forward while vomit filled her mouth, and [she] began vomiting profusely.”
According to the complaint, SUR staffers threw water on the soiled ground around the patron. She claims she had fallen to the floor, where she continued to vomit and defecate on herself.
Dinner At Vanderpump Rules SUR Restaurant Led To Hospital Stay, Woman Alleges
The lawsuit further states that the patron’s family called 9-1-1. The woman claims she was in ICU for three days. And in the hospital for a total of five days before she could go home.
In a bombshell accusation, the court papers claim other SUR patrons have suffered food poisoning in the past. However, the only source the woman offers as proof were restaurant reviews.
In addition, the lawsuit states that the Health Department found seven health code violations at SUR in 2017. Allegedly, the violations included unclean food contact surfaces and the presence of rodents. Both could lead to cross-contamination resulting in the food poisoning described.
SUR Co-Owner Natalie Denies Accusations
Vanderpump Rules fans have seen the occasional appearance of tough-as-nails SUR co-owner Natalie. She spoke out to deny the health code violations and the woman’s account.
“SUR has been in business for 15 years and serves over 150,000 patrons a year. We have maintained our “A” RATING from the department of health. We have no record of this ever happening.”
History of Incidents At Vanderpump Rules Star’s Restaurants
In 2014, Villa Blanca was closed for 3 days after a health inspection found evidence of rodents and other violations.
That same year, the restaurant was hit with a $1.4 million judgment in a sexual harassment case. Viewers of Vanderpump Rules might remember when SUR was damaged by a fire in 2017.
Since Lisa has quit RHOBH, fans can watch her next season on Vanderpump Rules. Bravo has yet to announce any air date for Season 8, but it has already started filming.
