90 Day Fiance‘s Jay Smith arrested after alleged PFA violation

After the most recent season of Happily Ever After ended, we know that this time, Ashley Martson’s determined to divorce Jay. We noted that things grew heated between them, as Ashley admitted she threw a fire extinguisher through the window of Jay’s place. She now faces charges of alleged assault and mischief. Plus, Ashley filed a PFA that Jay allegedly broke and he ended up arrested.

At the time, we noted the GoFundMe started by Jay’s new girlfriend. He turned himself in for the PFA, but later got detained by ICE. In that article, we shared that after the court case for the PFA “[Jay] immediately went into detention. “Jay was… turned over to immigration enforcement and is being held in a jail cell as if he is a convicted criminal,” girlfriend Kayla wrote. The 90 Day Fiance star later got released on bail.

While Larissa Lima faced deportation herself and wants to assist immigrants, she’s no lawyer. However, she dealt with her own attorney over her own possible deportation. So, she may know something about it. It seems the problem stemmed initially from Ashley who brought Jay in. However, by her own admission in the 90 Day Fiance show, Ashley never upgraded his status. That’s why we assume Ashley has strong hopes for his deportation.

However, Larissa Lima spoke to US Weekly about it. They cite her as saying, “Why ICE detained him, I do not understand.” She added, “What a frightening situation he was put in. He did not come to the United States illegally. He came as a K1 and has his rights to stay, even if his marriage did not work out.”
