The Bachelor alum, Melissa thinks it’s something foodborne
Page Six reported on the illness that struck The Bachelor alum in the Dominican Republic. According to their source, she’s “been battling a mysterious bug after vacationing with her family on the island.” Of course, friends and family have huge concerns with all the reports of illness and even death in the Dominican Republic.
CNN reported tonight that a “New Jersey man died at a hotel in the Dominican Republic last week, his family says, making him at least the ninth US tourist to die at a Dominican Republic resort, or after becoming ill at one, over the past 13 months.” However, Rycroft’s rep says she thinks it’s some sort of “foodborne” illness.
Vacation in the Dominican Republic saw Melissa Rycroft get sick
Page Six reported that Melissa’s “really sick,” according to their source. Obviously, her family, friends, and now, The Bachelor fans, worry about her. However, they also note that Melissa doesn’t seem too concerned. Their report says that Melissa fell ill while on vacation at the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta Cana. However, she later recovered – until her return to the USA.
None of the rest of her family seems ill, which might be why she’s just dealing with it, and not stressing too much. It looks like she contracted some sort of tummy bug whilst on vacation because her rep says she started getting “severe cramping” on her return. The rep added, “It has lasted for over a week, and she’s currently getting tested for possible parasites and any other infections.”
Dominican illness sees sick passengers of flights
Fox News reported that Tracy McCraw, of Madison, experienced some sort of flu symptom on her vacation to “Punta Cana.” She and her daughter flew home and many passengers showed signs of illness, she claimed. Fox also mentioned a group of teens fell ill and ended up at a hospital in the same resort town.
