‘Days of Our Lives’ 2019 Summer Preview
Days of Our Lives recently released their promo for the summer. It looks like living will be easy in Salem, USA. The slogan for the teaser is “summer means romance.” Love is definitely in the air.
Four Days of Our Lives Weddings
The promo boasts four weddings, an engagement and an anniversary. We know the anniversary is John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) first wedding anniversary. Will (Chandler Massey) asks Sonny (Freddie Smith) to marry him next week, thinking he’s going to die from the brain tumor. There’s hope that Will survives after his doctors get their hands on the diary of mad Dr. Rolf (William Utay.)
Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) will be back in town for the wedding and will stick around for the summer. Because of their return, the Sami fans will be back watching again.
Rumors around the DOOL pages online is that one of the other couples getting hitched is Gabi (Camila Banus) and Stefan (Brandon Barash.) Going into the summer, they are more of an affair than an actual couple, so perhaps it’s a marriage of convenience?
Stefan seems pretty hung up on Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin,) but spoilers confirm that Nadia is leaving the show soon. Perhaps she gets engaged to Rex (Kyle Lowder) and they leave the canvas together.
And a Funeral
Next week, Salem gathers to start a long goodbye to Brady matriarch Caroline after portrayer Peggy McCay’s passing in late 2018. Unfortunately, actress Patsy Pease will not be reprising her role as Caroline’s daughter, Kimberly Brady-Donovan for the funeral scenes.
When asked by a fan, head writer Ron Carlivati tweeted that she was recovering from surgery at the time and unable to return. Jen Lilley was also unable to return as Theresa.

However, there are a lot of other characters returning to celebrate Peggy/Caroline.
Favorites Return
As mentioned, Sami and Lucas return to be with Will but stick around town for the funeral. Sami’s sister, Carrie (Christie Clark) returns without her husband Austin (last played by Patrick Muldoon.) Carrie shares an unexpected kiss from someone from her past.
Caroline’s beloved grandson Shawn (Brandon Beemer) returns with wife Belle (Martha Madison.) What will Shawn say about Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) divorce from Rafe and new romance with Ted (Giles Marini)?
Carrie’s mother Anna (Leann Hunley) makes a surprise return, along with either Tony or Andre (Thaao Penghlis.) He is seen in the promo wearing a robe with the initials “AD” but that doesn’t tell us anything; Tony’s first name is Anthony. Because of this clue, fans are thinking it could be either one.
Stacy Haiduk has been doing a fabulous job as Kristen pretending to be Nicole. This summer, she takes on another role as Susan Banks returns to Salem and has her eye on Brady (Eric Martsolf.) That will give fans some comic relief after the substantial loss of Peggy McCay, who graced our screens as Caroline for over thirty years.
