In the past, he and his wife, Tori, have shared that his dwarfism has had little impact on their marriage. They remind viewers that dwarfism should not be seen as a limitation. She loves Zach “for his heart not his height.”

Tori and Zach Roloff are the proud parents of one-year-old Jackson. They are expecting their second child, a little girl, later this year.

Zach Roloff’s most recent diagnosis

On Tuesday’s episode of Little People, Big World, a new health problem was revealed. He was having trouble picking up Jackson. He had pain throughout his body.

On the show, he said, “I’ve been having a lot of pain in my back and my legs. There’s like a tightness to my thighs, there’s a weakness in my knees. Something’s not going right.”

At one point, Zach began trying to pinpoint his possible triggers for the pain. He is fairly active because of the farm. Plus, he coaches and plays soccer. Keeping up with a one-year-old must be hard on his body too. There were several potential triggers, which made it difficult for Zach to eliminate his pain.

In this episode, the Little People, Big World star said he had become “paralyzed for a minute”. This scary moment caused Zach and Tori to seek medical attention. Zach got an MRI and his diagnosis came back as multilevel degenerative disc disease causing spinal stenosis.

The bulging and degenerating discs in his spine were pinching his nerves. This was what was causing his recent pain issues.

What will the Little People, Big World star do next?

Based on the diagnosis, Zach will need to take action. It’s clear that he will need some medical attention now or later. He needs to meet with a spinal specialist. From there, they can decide whether to go through with surgery right now or in the future.

Knowing that he may have to have surgery scared him. This made the diagnosis seem even more real and serious. On the show, Tori said, “I am scared. That’s the worst case scenario in my head for him to have surgery. I’m trying really hard not to panic.” Zach even added that he was “in denial”.

  1. having back surgery is a scary thing. A lot of doctor’s today try to avoided surgery unless it really necessary. I wish Zach a lot of luck and prayers and hope everything works out for him. It will be awful to not be able to pick up his baby Daughter when she is born. Hang in there Zach and Tori I and sure everything will work out.
