‘Sister Wives’: Kody Brown Bought land In Flagstaff, But No Development Yet

Sister Wives: Kody Brown

Sister Wives latest season showed Kody Brown rushing his family to move to Flagstaff, Arizona. In fact, it really got some fans wondering what he was “running away from.” Anyway, despite his four sister wives not really wishing to relocate, they finally made the move from Las Vegas. Initially, they put down a huge payment for some land. Now, it looks like that land never got developed.

Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown paid $820,000 on Flagstaff land a year ago

Followers of the Sister Wives show saw Kody and the family deciding on a piece of land. Kody eventually forked out $820,000 for it. The four parcels of land were variously registered between himself and the four women, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn. However, the bare land needed some development to make it habitable.

In the meantime, Radar Online noted that “Kody and Christine bought a home for $520,000. Meri, Janelle and Robyn are living in rental homes.” That’s a lot of payments to make each month. The Las Vegas, Nevada homes did not sell fast. It seemed that Kody was aware they would need to sell fast or they would “run out of money.” However, the homes moved slowly.

The Brown family’s Las Vegas homes sold slowly and there’s still one to go

Back in early April, Christine Brown’s Las Vegas home went back on the market. Previously reported as sold, it fell through. Now, that home sits awaiting a new buyer. So, there’s money tied up there. TV Shows Ace noted at the time that, Christine Brown’s “original asking price $675,000” dropped to “$599,900, but never sold.” That was despite reports it did. Actually, that must have been a trying time for the Brown family.

Luckily, Meri Brown’s Las Vegas home sold in early May and Radar Online noted she got $574,900 for it. Overall, the three homes sold for way less than they hoped, and Sister Wives fans heard they slashed prices on each and every one of them before getting buyers. It seems the Brown’s could really use a buyer for their remaining home, as they may be in financial trouble.

Financial problems for the Sister Wives may be why no land development happened yet

Radar Online managed to get some photos of the land that Kody Brown acquired in Flagstaff nearly a year ago. They published the pictures, noting that the land still looks the same as it did. There’s no new development on it. Nope, according to their pictures, there’s no sign of anything, much less the big home Kody wanted.

The news outlet also reminds us that the Sister Wives family got into tax arrears in Arizona. Initially, they reported that their information came from the “Coconino County Treasurer’s Office.” We don’t know if they paid those taxes yet, but certainly, it looks like things may be very difficult right now in Flagstaff.

What do you think about that big, beautiful piece of land showing no signs of development yet? Do you think Kody Brown and his wives could be in serious financial trouble? Sound off your thoughts in comments below.

  1. It seems that only the wives own their homes and that Kody benefits from whatever they are worth. Even Christine’s house supposedly bought by Kody and Christine, is actually on Christine’s back. When will everyone realize that Kody just uses these women for monetary convenience and sex. He is a farce and glad that their show has been cancelled. Too much attention is paid to them.
