‘Counting On’: Jill and Derick Dillard Move House With No Help From The Duggar Family

Counting On: Jill Dillard

Counting On alum Derick Dillard and Jill moved house recently, as reported by TV Shows Ace at the time. It looked like a bit of a difficult time as Derick’s busy studying for his 1st year at the University of Arkansas Law School. Plus, according to Jill, they made the move without the help of the giant Duggar family. Actually, they took it slowly with just some movers and a friend.

Counting On couple Derick and Jill Dillard moved slowly

Taking to her blog, Dillard Family, Jill wrote, “We’ve been slowly transitioning to our new home in an effort to not add too much stress to the already long days with Derick heading into finals as he wraps up his 1L year at the University of Arkansas Law School.” Then, she made a note to thank their friend “Gunner (& Brandon)” for “helping them] move.”

Jill adds that everything’s out the old house now, so they can focus on getting the new place sorted. As she notes, “We haven’t organized and unpacked everything yet, but look forward to making some headway in the weeks ahead!” On her blog, she posted some color photos, but on Instagram, she dropped a few as well. For some reason, she filtered them in black and gray. Maybe she felt down about moving? Anyway, from the few images we see it may be slightly larger than the previous home.

Duggar family seemed conspicuously absent for the Dillard’s move

The Duggars always chip in and help each other. There’s certainly enough of them populating Arkansas, so how come Derick and Jill made do without help? Anyway, it looks like they managed okay, even if things look a bit chaotic. Jill mentioned about using towels as temporary curtains in the one room, saying, “Had to do something in the meantime!” People can certainly relate to that.

Nevertheless, some followers of Counting On noted the absence of the rest of the Duggars. @Ang** wrote, “sounds like there may be a fallout. Why are none of your 18 siblings helping you move?” Another asked, “Why didn’t your family help you. They seem pretty practiced in the moving and decorating phase? Only asking because I think in a move you need all the help you can get. I do.” Meanwhile, others grew concerned about her posting photos of the neighborhood. After all, there are some “crazies” out there.

Do you think it’s strange that Jill and Derick Dillard moved house on their own? Where were the rest of the Duggar clan? Sound off your thoughts in the comments below.
