‘American Idol’ Alyssa Raghu’s All-Star Duet Best Song Yet, Top 14 Confirmed

American Idol Group Two All-Star Duets Monday night, brought Alyssa Raghu with her best performance. She sang Issues with Julia Michaels, not the easiest song in the world. However, she managed to stay true to her own self and delivered a quality that topped out her Top 20 solo number. The 2017 alum showed why the judges brought her back again this year, and now voted her through to the Top 14.

Group One on Sunday, saw three eliminations and the top seven went through. Monday, it was Group Two’s time for grabbing those prized seats. One of the Group Two contestants, Alyssa Raghu exhibited almost no tension before her performance. Actually, she looked so attractive and so excited about her duet that it was fun to watch.

In her behind-the-scenes meeting with Julia Michaels, she said, “I’m singing with Julia Michaels, of all people!” She added that she listens to Julia on the radio and loves her music. Next, showing no nerves, Alyssa said she’s “ready” and also “so stoked!” When they went on-stage, Alyssa sang it her way in her own voice, not trying to sound like Julia Michaels.

Top 14 confirmed on Twitter for American Idol Season 17

After the show, Alyssa Raghu found out she went through to the Top 14. Katy Perry called the first vote and she chose 90 Day Fiance alum, Evelyn Cormier. Next came Lionel Richie’s call, and he opted for Dimitruss Graham. Luke’s first call was Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon. The rest of them included Wade Cota, Eddie Island, and Alejandro Aranda. Sadly for Ryan Hammond, Logan Johnson, and Raquel Trinidad, they were sent home.
