‘Counting On’: Duggar Family Surprise Jim Bob And Michelle With Renovation Make-Over
Counting On fans got an update from Jana Duggar on Instagram where she shared the Duggar family surprise for Jim Bob and Michelle. Actually, this is no small surprise, but a mega renovation make-over for their living quarters. Jana’s talents in design definitely shine, but she did say that other members of the family got in and helped out.
Counting On renovation included the bathroom
The bathroom, nook, and main bedroom all got a make-over, and the differences really are amazing. For example, the main bedroom used to have plain curtains and a shelf with a few pictures and a lampshade on it. Now, there’s a lovely seating area with cupboards and shelving, done in shades of beige. In fact, the bedroom used to look dark and clunky but now it looks light and very calm.
The bathroom looks almost like it belongs in a different home. Where plain and functional thrived, is now boutique hotel-style perfection. Fans of Jana congratulated her on the amazing make-over, as she really outdid herself. @criskrina noted, “It’s beautiful, @janamduggar! It looks so fresh and peaceful – like a relaxing getaway. I’m sure your parents were thrilled with the transformation!”
Duggar family helped out with the surprise
Jana made sure to let Counting On fans know that the rest of the family also chipped in. In her caption, she wrote, “So grateful to all the family and friends who pitched in to make this happen!” Surely the gift of giving rates as one of the nicest things people can do. Imagine Jim Bob and Michelle’s faces when they walked into the room? It seems the family planned this time to do it as Jim and Michelle went away for a week and a half.
Many of the followers urged Jana to think about interior decorating as a career, which is a bit of wishful thinking. Jana’s not likely to get her dad’s blessing as the Duggar girls simply don’t go off and start careers. Nevertheless, Jana at least does amuse her siblings with her artistic ability, and she must have enjoyed this project very much.

Jim Bob And Michelle’s made-over space
Jana never said how her parents reacted when they returned, but we can imagine their pleasure as it looks tasteful and comfortable. Mind you, some fans of Counting On said they preferred the starker old wood in the “before pictures.”
