‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Season 9 and the Doggone Drama
Reports have been swirling the Internet for months about the fallout between the ladies of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The drama seemed to focus on Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump. This drama has already started one episode in.
Dorit Kemsley joins the drama
Another co-star was thrown into the mix on the 9th Season Premiere episode of the hit reality show. None other than Lisa’s close friend Dorit Kemsley. We know that Dorit adopted a dog from Lisa’s Vanderpump Dog Foundation. We know that somehow the dog ended up back in a shelter. The microchip on the dog led the shelter back to the Vanderpump Dog Foundation.
In the season premiere, Lisa and Dorit discussed the situation at dinner with their respective husbands, Ken Todd and Paul Kemsley (PK.) Dorit and her husband seemed annoyed that Lisa brought it up again when they both thought the situation was resolved.
According to Dorit, she rehomed the dog after it bit her daughter and husband. A photo was shown on-screen of PK with a scratch on his nose, allegedly made by the dog. The “nice” woman Dorit gave the dog to took the dog to the shelter for an as-yet unexplained reason. It turns out there were actually two dogs, but Dorit returned one to the shelter. Lisa confirmed this on her Twitter.
During the episode, Lisa reiterated many times that she believed Dorit’s side of the story and that she wasn’t angry with her. Other than that, she refused to talk about it and it seemed the situation was resolved on both side.
What else happens this season?
Then came the trailer for the rest of the season. The dog issue seems to be a major plot point of the rest of Season 9. So, how did the situation go from being resolved to the source of major drama all season?
One hint came in the form of Kyle’s voice-over saying that someone must have leaked the story to the media. We can assume Kyle (and the others) think that someone was Lisa. It has been a recurring storyline of whether or not Lisa sells stories about the other ladies to the tabloids. Lisa has always denied it and, in this case, Lisa has been backed up by the article writers who say she wasn’t the source.
Another hint was how upset Kyle Richards got in the premiere about the difference between how Lisa treats her vs. how Lisa treats Dorit. Kyle has gone on the record many times in the last few weeks during press interviews about how she hasn’t spoken to Lisa in months.
