At this point, it’s no secret that Colton Underwood is a virgin coming into his season of The Bachelor. Revealed during Becca’s season of The Bachelorette, fans were astonished that Colton Underwood had such a secret. Now, instead of just ignoring it, the show has made it a focal point of their advertising.
Bachelor new post revealed
A new poster for The Bachelor was released and fans instantly got the reference. Dressed in a blue and yellow polo with a happy dazed look on his face, Colton Underwood holds a single rose as he portrays Steve Carell in the 40-Year-Old-Virgin. Even the background is identical to the original photo. Judd Appatow, director of the 40-Year-Old-Virgin, was the first two share the photo on Instagram, adding a humorous caption of course. Take a look for yourself:
Obviously, ABC took Colton Underwood’s “secret” and turned it into a way to sell this season. Fans commented and thought it was the best thing they had ever seen. Comments ranged from people thinking this was hilarious, to questioning if this could actually be the real poster.
Some fans though aren’t letting the promotions fool them, they are still upset that their favorite Bachelorette contestants weren’t chosen to be The Bachelor instead of Colton. Many think Colton has already been overdone after his romance with Tia Booth and would’ve rather seen Blake or even Jason. Others are just mad they are milking the virginity thing so much. After all, they do bring it up every chance they get. Even Colton is reportedly tired of all the virginity talk.
Colton’s virginity to play out on the show
It looks like we will finally get to see just how much they play up Colton’s virginity on January 7th. The biggest question is whether Colton Underwood will leave the show a virgin or if he will take fantasy suites to the next level. According to the star, he’s just waiting for the right girl, not marriage. This could definitely happen on The Bachelor, but it may also be hard to pick just one. After asking Chris Harrison if he had to do anything in the fantasy suites though during The Bachelorette, it’s not likely he takes that step this season.
What did you think of the new marketing poster? Think its funny or overplayed? Let us know in the comments and don’t miss out on Colton’s season starting in January on ABC.
